Bano has been involved in several collaboration and innovation projects. From 2010 to 2013, we carried out a public research and development (OFU) project in collaboration with Helse Bergen health trust with support from Innovation Norway and the Research Council of Norway. The background to the project was the fact that, despite a great deal of technical and medical development having taken place in Norwegian hospitals, the bathrooms had remained unchanged for 30 years.
The project had a project group and a steering committee comprising both users and staff.
The goal of the project was to develop modern hospital bathrooms by taking a forward-looking perspective and developing factors such as furnishing, size, ergonomics and hygiene to the benefit of both users and staff.
